One of the many tourist destinations in Visayas includes the beautiful and welcoming province of Leyte. The province is home to the stunning Kalanggaman Island and its white powdery sand beach, the longest bridge in the country, and a historical World War II site.

My hometown, Palompon, Leyte is known for the gorgeous Kalanggaman Island. Palompon is a 2nd Class of municipality in Leyte, a province in the Eastern Visayas. Palompon is located across the island of Cebu, so basically, two hours travel by boat from Palompon to Bogo City, Cebu.

How do I get to Palompon?

Upon arrival at the Ormoc airport, go to the Ormoc van and bus terminal found across Ormoc City Park and head to Palompon. Once you arrive at Palompon, go to the Town Ecotourism office and pay the necessary fees. Then, rent a boat to the island. From Tacloban, you’ll have to take a 3-hour van ride going to Palompon.
